Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein was born in 1879. He is frequently pictured with his hair sticking up in a sort of messy array and noted for his refusal to conform to the wearing of socks with his shoes. He may look like a loser, You might think him to be a little strange, but looks and preconcieve notions about people just do not do them justice. The man may be a bit different than most, but he is also considered a genius.

Einstien, famous for his scientific equations, was a Jew born in Germany. In his adult life, being a scientist and Nobel Prize winner and mathematician, his knowlege and experience was in high demand and he spent a lot of time touring the world and being involved in social issues. At the age of 56, Einstein was offered a job at Princeton University which he accepted but he still planned on returning to Germany. The year was 1935 however and it was during this time that the Nazis came to power and since they hated Jews, Einstein was offered permanent residency in the US which he accepted. He became a US citizen in 1940 and he never returned again to his homeland. He was very insrumental in founding the In 1953, he was offered the Israeli Presidency, but he declined due to his pooor health, then he died in 1955.

As a youth, Einstien had been labeled by his teachers as a"slow learner” and was expelled from formal school at the age of 15 for being such a “challenge” to his teachers. One tutor even told him that he would never amount to anything in life. In spite of the labels he was given, in spite of the prophecies that he would be a failure in life, this “slow learner,” grew up. It amazing that an unschoolable, slow learning person named Albert Einstein would grow up and be now thought of as a genius, a very thoughtful and productive man.

Einstein wasn’t unintelligent, he just pursued his own education. He read book after book, he visited art galleries, and he traveled about to different places talking to people and learning new and interesting things. He played a violin, attended concerts, lectures and even pursued taking classes at the local college which was no easy task because he went their already labeled a "drop out "and he even failed the first college entrance exam he took. Though he didn't fit into the world's scholastic plan, nor meet their highest expectations, he didn't let that discourage him as a person. He simply made good use of his God-given mind and he grew and as he grew he developed into his God-given individuality. The funny thing is that now, because he is who he is, and did what he did, the scholastic and scientific world thinks of him as a "genius."

And why not? After all, Einstein was notably the contributor of some of the most profoundly respected scientific theories, such as the Theory of Brownian Motion, the Special Theory of Relativity, and the Theory of the Photoelectric Effect. He was recipient of the Noble Peace Prize in 1921, and he taught high level physics at major universities. He became a very wealthy and famous man, and during World War II was influencial in political areanas and did a lot of humanitarian work for Jewish refugees as well as contribute to the building of the the newly formed Jewish nation.

In April 1955, in Princeton NJ, Einstein died was cremated.

For someone who was told he would “never amount to anything,” Einstein did quite a lot. He is admired and looked up to as a man of wisdom, even a man of peace. For a misfit and a loser, he is one man who certainly made many contributions to the world with his life.
