In general terms, the subconscious mind is the part of the mind not immediately available to consciousness. It is the place where memories and thoughts are believed to be stored for future remembrances and the place where dreams take place. Psychotherapy, hypnosis, multilevel marketing schemes, some health gurus and occult practitioners all over the world are willing to help you tap into your subconscious mind, usually for a fee. Some people will even help you learn to tap into it yourself via video tape or book. Whatever the method, the idea is that they will help you learn to use your full potential, overcome guilt or bad behaviors, or even get in touch with the inner child you forgot, but now want to be.
People talk about the "subconscious mind," something that they learn about it in psychology classes at universities and doctor’s offices , but really, the understanding of what exactly it is and what it all entails is quite diverse. What it is and isn't is still disputed, being explored, analyzed and utilized in all sorts of ways, though much of what we understand about it comes from a man named Sigmund Freud. It was Freud's work in human sexuality and dreams, that helped humanity better understand, even be willing to explore their own subconscious (unconscious) minds.
